RICHMOND, Va. – A federal judge in Virginia has declared the Obama administration’s health care reform law unconstitutional.
U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson is the first judge to rule against the law, which has been upheld by two others in Virginia and Michigan.
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli filed the lawsuit challenging the law’s requirement that citizens buy health insurance or pay a penalty starting in 2014.
He argues the federal government doesn’t have the constitutional authority to impose the requirement. more…

As a self-employed entrepreneur and one who studies health and nutrition as a hobby, I was quite pissed (if you’ll pardon the expression) about the attempt to force people to buy insurance. Just who is it that they’re trying to help, anyway?
A Look Through The Fog
Let me make things clear. I am all for regulation limiting the health care system’s discretion about who or what they will or will not cover. On the other hand, to force a law-abiding sovereign independent to do anything against their will is absurd beyond measure. (I recognize that this can hold water and have meaning beyond the topic at hand)
The FDA and the USDA are in bed with the Military Industrial Complex as is evidenced by the Clinton Administration’s passage of a law enabling pharmaceutical companies to market directly to consumers. If you’ll notice, you never saw any of those annoying commercials for prescription medications before then. They also say to ask your doctor.
Hospitals Now a Business First and Foremost
Hospitals have been refusing treatment based on some financial reason or other a whole lot more often in recent years. Sometimes the extreme cases even make their local news. Insurance has also gotten a lot more complicated. Just look at your current insurance plan (if you have one.. I do not) and compare it to what your health insurance plan was like 15-20 years ago. It is no secret that doctors earn commission on a wide range of prescription drugs. Doctors are even prescribing drugs that are intended to treat mental illness.. a field which MD’s have no qualification to accurately diagnose.
This leads us to a question that I’d like to leave you with. Who is profiting for the health care bill?
This question should be applied to any and all legislation that is passed anytime in the last 100 years, and should continue to be applied by all representatives before voting on any bill that reaches the floor.
