Mr. Turner spoke at a luncheon where economist Brian O’Neill from the U.S.’s National Center for Atmospheric Research unveiled his study on the impact of demographic trends on future greenhouse gas emission, a little-discussed subject given its political sensitivity.
Mr. Turner – a long-time advocate of population control – said the environmental stress on the Earth requires radical solutions, suggesting countries should follow China’s lead in instituting a one-child policy to reduce global population over time. He added that fertility rights could be sold so that poor people could profit from their decision not to reproduce.
“If we’re going to be here [as a species] 5,000 years from now, we’re not going to do it with seven billion people,” Mr. Turner said.
Well Isn’t that a novel idea? When looking for ways to help the planet and humanity, I ALWAYS look to the Chinese for guidance. Mmm hmm.
While left wing loons like Mr. Turner try to reduce your family for the sake of “saving the planet”, they continue to ignore the fact that their data, and morals, are horribly flawed. Just today the Daily Mail put out stories showing that the climate change alarmist’s dire prediction that the sea level would rise 6ft in the next century was far off course.
We were also told that 2010 was going to be the warmest year on record, yet the facts once again show otherwise.
Globally, they insisted, 2010 was still on course to be the warmest or second warmest year since current records began.
But buried amid the details of those two Met Office statements 12 months apart lies a remarkable climbdown that has huge implications – not just for the Met Office, but for debate over climate change as a whole.
Read carefully with other official data, they conceal a truth that for some, to paraphrase former US VicePresident Al Gore, is really inconvenient: for the past 15 years, global warming has stopped.
When you lack religion and a relationship with God, people are drawn to the religion of “climate change”. Unfortunately, radicals like Ted Turner are only insulting God, life, and humanity in the process. If they can’t control the people and force them to reduce the God given gift of children, then they will promote the extermination of your child in the womb through abortion.
Why is he promoting this “one child” policy? Is he trying to eliminate “poor people” by having them sell their fertility rights, as quoted above, or does he truly worry about the future of mankind 5000 years from now? Either way, I cannot find one bit of logic in his disturbing proposal.
