In November we, the people of the great state of Texas spoke loudly and clearly. We want to take our nation and our state back from the left. We are fiscal and social conservatives!
Many have voiced their concerns that Speaker Straus is not a social and fiscal conservative. We have shown everyone the evidence. Yet because of the cash that Joe Straus pumped into their campaigns many of our state reps are reticent to pull their support from a man who does not represent the conservatives who put them in office. We have been told by our state reps that it is inevitable that he is going to win, so they need to support him if they have any chance of having their legislation passed. This means that our Republican Reps agree with Planned Parenthood, and NARAL, and the Voice of Dallas, and the LGBT. They agree with no Voter ID, they agree with the speaker on open borders, they agree with Speaker Straus and support his future decisions. They share in his record of past decisions with pride and stand against the will of “we the people”.
So far I have not said who I personally prefer for speaker. Truth is I do not know Chisum or Paxton as well as I would like to know them. But I recently received an e-mail from a friend that highlighted Paxton’s personal and legislative accomplishments. As I read down the list I started to get angry. Paxton is such a great conservative leader both socially and fiscally. He thinks and acts like many of “we the people”. Yet many of our state reps refuse take back their pledges from Straus. They will stand by him come hell or high water, and one must ask “why”? It must be one of two things, either they agree with him (this means they disagree with us and our party platform), or they agree with us but they sold their votes for cash during the election.
The Collin County Republican Party put together a resume of Ken Paxton’s legislative accomplishments. Please look it over and if you agree let everyone know, especially your State Rep. We need to let them all know that we will no longer be sleeping while they are in Austin! We will watch them and the decisions they make, and they need to have it explained to them that once upon a time we elected them, they went off and did their thing, and we just hoped it wouldn’t cost us too much, and they wouldn’t embarrass us too much. Not any more! With the awakening of the conservative movement and the advent of communication technology “we the people” are very well connected to them and to each other. We have seen our great nation come to the brink of loss and “we the people” realize that “little” unwise choices (such as pledging to Straus early on), being bullied by him and the Democrats and liberals who back him, and squandering away our majority in the house will not be tolerated! These “little” indiscretions are what got us in the mess we find ourselves in today, and we will work harder to find their replacements than we did to get them in office if the conservative agenda that “we the people” have been seeking gets derailed.
