Abby Johnson, Unplanned Comment?

February 26, 2011 5:23 pm 10 comments

Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood Director is struggling to undo a statement she said. On Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the TX. state capital Abby delivered a message to about 200 pro life advocates. There were many others supporting the sonogram Texas bill HB 201.

Senator Dan Patrick went ahead of her and in his speech said there were going to be exceptions to a bill making sonograms viewable to abortion minded women. When I asked “Why” there was no answer.  Abby Johnson comes up to speak later and at 6:22 minutes into her speech she says ” and no matter what the situation is for a woman a child never deserves to be killed”.  I ask “not even in rape?” and she looks right at me and then away.  Her next statement totally contradicts her 100% pro life previous statement.  She states “Now I want to say something. I, I  um because I was there yesterday uh testifying, I don’t want you guys, I don’t want some of you to get in a tizzy about the rape and incest and the life of the mother (pause) uh exception. It is important for us as pro lifers to win some battles before we win the war. By winning this battle we are that much closer to winning that war. And so please let’s keep that in mind.   Rape and incest and the life of the mother is such a small percentage one percent.”

Her gestures and facial expression seem to say this small group is nothing to be concerned about but her words say exactly that.

Was this an unplanned comment? Abby posted on her Facebook wall that this was a fake video and that I didn’t post the entire video. The entire video is now posted. Other people videoed her and about 200 people  heard Abby Johnson refer to me as “just one percent”. No big deal? She knows me and that I was conceived in rape. This was like a knife thrust into my heart. There were three others with rape conception stories in the audience that couldn’t be outspoken as I am. The stigma put on women and children of rape conception has caused many to be suicidal.

I am more concerned with attacking this issue than attacking the person. This is a broad spread philosophy that is destroying lives.

Abby Johnson’s comment was degrading and perpetuates the devaluation of rape/incest conceived humans.  She has said she will not offer a public apology. Why? She told me has done nothing wrong.

If she had been this disrespectful to any other minority it would be all over the news with a demand for an apology. My hope is that pro life people understand the ramifications of choosing who lives and who dies. If one rape child is sacrificed there is an open door to all abortion.  NOT the other way around.

I understand some people thinking we have to compromise to get any laws passed but that is a fatal compromise in the truest sense of the word. I once considered saving the others and coming back for the rape child until I was corrected. Truth is so important to me. My understanding is different now. Once I was blind but now I see.

Jesus left the 99 to save the 1. If 55 million babies have been aborted and 1% have been rape babies then that adds up to 550,000.  “Just one percent’ is not “just” one percent.  It would matter if someone took one child from your home wouldn’t it?

Rebecca Kiessling, MI lawyer also conceived in rape,  points out, “ It would be ridiculous to suggest that all unborn children are persons except for children conceived in rape, as the Roe Court pointed out in footnote 54.”

If there had not been the exception it would be clear that all unborn are persons. But because some say exceptions are OK then it is clear even to pro choicers that these “choice” pro lifers are mixed up.

Had Abby said she felt she had no choice to do this in a kind way maybe it would have been a bit easier to hear but that’s not how it was. It is wrong either way but to be compassionate as she constantly tells others to be would have helped.

But now she is denying she said it? Why? Is it wrong for her to have said it?  All conceived in rape people know it and so does she.

Pam Stenzel makes a very observant point in her FB notes.

“Anyone that is more interested in winning a POLITICAL BATTLE than speaking truth will find themselves in a horribly precarious situation. When our aim is to have “fewer” abortions, rather than speak truth about the dignity of the human person, then we are bound to compromise over and over again. The entire ROE v WADE decision was made on the basis of “FALSE RAPE CHARGE”, the abortion rights movement used RAPE to justify ALL abortion. How then can we who say that we believe that life begins at conception fall prey to their argument? I will never forget hearing a very profane radio disc jockey who clearly stated he was NOT pro choice, he was PRO ABORTION and believed that abortion was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and thought any girl under 20 who was pregnant should be COMPELLED to abort, give a rant live on air that is to profane for me to repeat… but basically said that people who called themselves “PRO LIFE” except for cases of rape were ****ing hypocrites, if it is a human being than you should never kill it, if it is a ****ing bunch of cells, then there should be no reason to save it. You can’t have it both ways. I was stunned… here was a complete pagan speaking more truth than many who call themselves prolife!”

Pam also stated “It is not ANY of those girls FAULT that they were put on a pedestal and chased after like rock stars… IT IS OUR FAULT! We are behaving like Hollywood producers, not like BROTHERS and SISTERS in CHRIST. Paul, after his conversion, HID HIMSELF AWAY FOR 7 YEARS! And still had alot of work to do to EARN the trust of the faithful. Woe to us if we DO NOT speak truth without compromise. Woe to us if we follow those who pro port to lead like sheep with no shepherd. Woe to us if we do not do our homework and test the words of EVERY PROPHET to see if it comes from God.”

I do believe we should still lovingly reach out to Abby with truth. We all should seek God for truth so that none of us fall prey to deception. It can happen to any of us. Let us stay in pray for Abby and any other leader. Pray that hearts would seek to love truth rather than fame. And that Jesus Christ in us be our goal whether for pro life or politics or just living day to day.

  • While I think that cases where the life of the mother is at stake should be a decision made by the mother and father together, I agree with you on rape and incest. The method of conception is not the baby’s fault.

For those of you conceived in such a way, think of yourselves as people that God so much wanted to have in the world that He used an extraordinary means to get you here. You are a physical manifestation of God’s ability to make a blessing out of what was intended as a curse.

I am thankful for your witness.

  • Thank you so much “MOM”. I like to say I am an exceptional display of God’s redemption.

  • As if the decision were only the woman’s….This society can’t seem to get past the MOMMIELOGUE.

A law forcing the father to come forward and pledge a lifelong committment to the child would be more appropriate than this. Then we could talk Life.

Roe Vs Wade doesn’t support the right to Abortion, It supports the right of the Mother to have the final say to her body. Asking to have her get a sonogram for a decision she has already made seems like the end game…and doesn’t alter her decision. Enabling legislation to further the life and care of the child would be much more appealing since ending a pregnancy is seen as the only solution.

Continuing to punish the mother for sins of the father seems really redundant this day and age doesn’t it??

Of course taxing AMericans to the point that both Parents have to work six days a week, without insurance or other health coverge, burgeoning house payments, oil out of site and increasing food costs while we give it all away to illegals kids so their mother ‘s can stay at home and produce even larger illegal cultures here in the US is also a factor in Mother’s making this decision………

My advice is create father laws. Mother ‘s should be encouraged to ahve their kids, but let her decide what to do with her body because it is a decision between her and God! Not her and the law, not her and the government…Most who get abortions are doing what BOTH the PArents want…

  • Actually ‘mom’:
    1) Studies show that 2/3 of all abortions in the US are NOT what both parents want – they are forced on the woman/girl by others (husbands, boyfriends, friends, doctors, etc); meaning that 2/3 of abortiong women/girls do NOT want to abort.

    2) Roe v Wade was about inconsistency: Texas law in the 70′s made all abortions illegal yet allowed abortion if the conception was via rape/incest. Justice Blackmun wrote that that law was unconstitutional because the state cannot have it both ways – either all unborn are persons worthy of 14th Amendment protection or none of them are. Which is why abortion is legal – by default.

    3) Having an abortion performed is not deciding what to do with one’s own body – it is doing something to someone else’s body. That is not legal.

    4) Your other comments seem to be about irresponsible men – agreed.

    • Thank you Doctor you are right, I would say most people who kill there babies rather than have them do it out of selfishness. They do not want to share there lives with a child.

There lots of people who would love to adopt if you do not want your child then give it up do not kill it.

      • You are exactly right! I have been sidewalk counseling in front of abortion centers since 1988 and the percentage of women coming are women who are not forced, it is selfish and cruel reasons for abortions. Not only that, most women claim to be Christians, which is the worst thing of all. Seems like all of them tell me, “God will forgive me!” The reality is that women in this country decide who will live and who will die…this is a decision that should have never happened!
It is a very small percentage of women that are forced. One only needs to go and stand in front of an abortion center to see what is really going on.

  • I have two friends that conceived from rape. One had her baby girl and almost a decade later is a loving mother and healing from her rape. The other around the same time in fact, had an abortion after she conceived from rape. She went on to have eating and emotional disorders. Sometimes God uses a child conceived in rape as a means of healing the woman. But pro-abortion types can never accept this. But I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

  • I too was conceived by rape. AJ has denounced the display of aborted babies at abortion clinics ( a tactic that thousands of anti-abortionists, including I, have found to be fantastically effective), and has denounced the Personhood campaign. I think she is the worst thing to happen to our movement. She must continue to be exposed.

  • “When Texas urges that a fetus is entitled to Fourteenth Amendment protection as a person, it faces a dilemma. Neither in Texas nor in any other State are all abortions prohibited. Despite broad proscription, an exception always exists. The exception contained in Art. 1196, for an abortion procured or attempted by medical advice for the purpose of saving the life of the mother, is typical. But if the fetus is a person who is not to be deprived of life without due process of law, and if the mother’s condition is the sole determinant, does not the Texas exception appear to be out of line with the Amendment’s command?” [ROE v. WADE, 410 U.S. 113 (1973)]

The exceptions that Abby is supporting were the very reason that the Roe court legalized abortion in the first place. You can read my debate against the folly of this compromise at: http://www.personhoodinitiative.com/debate-7.html

  • Has anyone ever seen a video of Abby at an abortion mill pleading with moms and dads to not kill their children? She graced us :snark: with her presence and small entourage at the Denver Planned Parenthood a year or so ago, and she and her cohorts only stood across the street the whole time while babies were being led to the slaughter. None of them spoke up in the babies’ defense.

Russia Declares ‘Holy War’ On Islamic State

The Orthodox Christian Church, which is reclaiming its traditional role in post-Soviet Russia, has just described its government’s fight against the Islamic State and other jihadi groups in Syria as a “holy war.”

According to Vsevolod Chaplin, head of the Church’s Public Affairs Department,

The fight with terrorism is a holy battle and today our country is perhaps the most active force in the world fighting it. The Russian Federation has made a responsible decision on the use of armed forces to defend the People of Syria from the sorrows caused by the arbitrariness of terrorists. Christians are suffering in the region with the kidnapping of clerics and the destruction of churches. Muslims are suffering no less.

This is not a pretext to justify intervention in Syria.

Oregon Shooting – When Tragedy Happens Let’s Focus On The Cause And Not The Tools Used

While the blood was still dripping from those martyrs who, in front of an evil man armed with a gun, asked them if they were Christians and those strong in the faith said they were. He shot them in the head. While those who were lost or weak said nothing he spared their lives and shot them in their legs.

Barrack Hussein Obama angrily ran to the cameras to use this opportunity to say that guns being in the hands of the law-abiding Americans is the problem, and we need to restrict the 2nd amendment to spare the lives of “we the people.”

This is nuts; guns do not kill people, people kill people! You can test this fact in your own home right now. (Do not worry no one will get hurt).

Gun Free Zones Are Killing Zones

How did you feel when you heard of the shootings in Oregon this week? Was the first thing that came to your mind the thought that if we only had stricter gun control legislation, this kind of tragedy could have been prevented?

If you listened to idiotic liberals, like President Barack “Insane” Obama, you might believe that. It is my contention that liberalism is a mental disorder based on the rejection of God and His principles, and extreme irresponsibility.

Do you ever wonder why it is that the current crop of Republicans are not declaring, at every media interview, “These ills have been brought to you by the Democrat Party!” when speaking of Obamacare, the hordes of immigrants being allowed to destroy our country, the Iranian nuclear treaty, the “Black Lives Matter” racial division rhetoric, the attack on the defense of marriage, the 94 million Americans not currently in the work force,

Child protection services Sentences Baby To Death ON 9/11/2015

Child protection services should be self-explanatory based on the simplicity of its name. But they are doing exactly opposite of their name in many places. Wynne, Arkansas is one such place.

A baby has been sentenced to death and will be executed on Friday, September 11, 2015 and Arkansas Department of HUMAN SERVICES (DHS) – Division of Children and Family Services- Central Office will facilitate the delivery of the baby’s 10-year-old to the abortion clinic.

On August 29, 2015 20-year-old Justin Smith was arrested and charged with three counts of rape and one count of endangering the welfare of a minor. His “alleged” victim is a 10-year-old.
