On the brink of a federal government shutdown due to the refusal of the Democrat party to cut even the smallest amount out of our federal budget, Harry Reid stands before the Senate and defends his favorite government funded past time – Cowboy Poetry.
“The mean-spirited bill, H.R. 1, eliminates National Public Broadcasting,” said Reid in a floor speech. “It eliminates the National Endowment of the Humanities, National Endowment of the Arts. These programs create jobs. The National Endowment of the Humanities is the reason we have in northern Nevada every January a cowboy poetry festival. Had that program not been around, the tens of thousands of people who come there every year would not exist.”
The President and the Democrats are even willing to stab our armed forces in the back by vetoing a bill that would extend military pay while they continue to bicker over this budget nightmare, but Harry Reid has the nerve to stand before us and talk about funding for cowboy poetry?
Sadly, it seems that the Democrats are willing to place our armed forces below their own hobbies.
