Judgmental Verses Removed From the Bible

Did you say “about time” or “how dare they?” While some will eagerly welcome this, others will say surely this cannot be. If you are one of those people who become angry with correction you may find yourself irritated with this article. But if you want truth read on.

How many times have people been condemned for reading the hard words of the Bible in public?  Recently a man was arrested for reading the Bible aloud at a DMV in Hemet, CA. He wasn’t singing ‘Jesus loves me this I know’ but instead was reading from Romans 1:18-20 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Someone on Facebook said “maybe if they had picked another verse to read…something less judgmental and more gentle, they may have been allowed to stay.”

People have itching ears as the bible says in  2 Timothy 4:3  For the time will come when people will not tolerate healthy doctrine, but with itching ears will surround themselves with teachers who cater to their people’s own desires. These has never been truer than today.  Those of us who hold to the Bible as being the Holy Word of God are called intolerant but indeed it is the intolerance of good and the tolerance of evil that has caused this country to fall.

In other countries simply owning a Bible can get you killed.  Christians were shot in Somalia carrying Bibles and persecution of Christians has long been accepted in many countries.  Could that happen in America?  Our foundational laws are being changed so why not the Bible?

For years the saying “Don’t judge me” has been gaining power, slowly but steadily. People become angry when their “sin” has been pointed out.  Even the word “sin” is an ugly word rarely used.  Feel good words have replaced convicting words and our society continues in a downward spiral.  There is no anguish for wrong.  People have even deceived themselves into thinking right is wrong and wrong is right.  But Isaiah 5:20 says, Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight.

David Wilkerson died April 27, 2011 and he wept over sin.  Pastor Wilkerson asked, where is the anguish, the “acute deep felt inner pain because of conditions about you, in you and around you.”

We have become a culture of self indulging pleasure but all the pleasures have not made us better.  Removing the word “sin” from our ears does not remove it from our actions or our hearts.

Judgment is the most misunderstood part of the bible today. 1 Corinthian 6:3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! I guess that is one verse that has been removed.  I never hear anyone quoting this one.  But they do quote Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Another favorite among many is Romans 2:1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, (the omitted part: because you who pass judgment do the same things.)

Paul in Acts 20:31 says,  So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears. That’s the NIV but in a new Bible it says, Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you–my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you. Doesn’t that sound much kinder?  ‘Warning’ versus ‘constant watch and care’ is a subtle change that may not seem important but we are making gods in our image rather than being the image of God.

Certainly if someone tried 100 years ago to make our society what it is today there would have indeed been an outright revolution and moral outrage. Even the words moral outrage are deemed inappropriate as morals are “to each his own.”  Small and subtle changes go unchallenged by most and evil forms deep and strong roots.

Churches that are growing in numbers seem to be the ones who motivate people with words of encouragement and not one of judgment. The parts of the Bible that say one will go to hell if you do not follow Christ has been replaced with finding the “champion in you”.  While I do believe there is a champion in all of us I know that comes only with repentance and surrender to Christ.  Even the world knows the hypocrisy of people living like the devil and saying they are Christians.  Note that they judge but do not want anyone to judge them.

Biblical judgment brings about conviction.  Conviction, if accepted, will bring repentance, repentance brings forgiveness from Christ and forgiveness brings freedom.

If one does not know something is wrong there will be no need to fix it. No one goes to the doctor expecting the doctor to just tell them all the good things about their body.  We don’t want to hear, “you’ve got beautiful teeth or shiny thick hair that makes you beautiful” when we are dying from a disease. But that is just what we’ve done when we remove the convicting words of the Bible.

People judge all day long, whether a person is safe, whether to make a good investment, etc.  A professor in Arizona made a very good observation. He saw that it is more evil to judge evil than to do evil.  Evil is being protected and even people who say they are Christians are eliminating judgmental verses from their life.  Grace has replaced conscience.

Making excuses for sin is not only acceptable but preferable. “I’m not perfect. I’m only human. God knows I’m not strong. God will understand. God is a forgiving loving God. I was born that way. I had a rough childhood. People hurt me. Love the sinner not the sin.” This is a sense of false humility unwilling to turn from wrong doing.  So what makes a sinner? Wouldn’t that be sin?  If there were no sin then there would be no sinner. So then how do you separate the two?  Judge what is right.  Even Jesus told a man to go and “sin no more”. Would Jesus tell us to do something that was impossible?  I think not.

When there is no desire to change, sin becomes the god of a person’s life. Jesus is not Lord over a life filled with unrepentant sin.

Many people are afraid to speak out for fear of attacks by the “tolerant” ones. Shall we be found guilty in God’s eyes for remaining silent?  If we who know Christ keep silent are we not the most selfish of all? Is it loving to remove parts of the Bible that will cause someone to turn from their wicked ways and be saved from eternal torment?  (Wow I even felt the strain of saying that last sentence) There is a spirit that is forcing people who know the truth to back down to lies and remain silent.  There is a hesitation to say words like sin, wicked, hell, immoral, and even Jesus Christ.  One can use Jesus Christ as a curse word but not in praise and instruction.  Have you heard the name of Mohammed or Buda or any other religious leader used as a curse word?  Why is that?  I’ll leave that for another time.

I know that the Bible has been used and twisted to hurt people.  Let me say that protesting a funeral is not a representation of Jesus Christ.  He made people rise from the dead. Yelling and screaming at people is not the best way of communicating anything.  Some people omit the love parts of the bible but the majority of omitted verses deal with our sin and God’s judgment.  We want all the blessings without the submission or responsibility to walk in Christ’s example.  It is not a burden to follow Him but a joy no one can understand.

Do we know better than God?  We must  not remove the parts of the Bible we don’t like but instead we need to ask God to help us walk in His ways.  No one can go against God and have eternity with Him. Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.  A man reaps what he sows.

Proverbs 1:7  declares, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. Most people do not fear offending God nor do they fear consequences for doing wrong.  No one will escape death.  But we can escape eternal separation from God.  When we surrender we gain more than the mind can comprehend.

Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother. Zechariah 7:9

Russia Declares ‘Holy War’ On Islamic State

The Orthodox Christian Church, which is reclaiming its traditional role in post-Soviet Russia, has just described its government’s fight against the Islamic State and other jihadi groups in Syria as a “holy war.”

According to Vsevolod Chaplin, head of the Church’s Public Affairs Department,

The fight with terrorism is a holy battle and today our country is perhaps the most active force in the world fighting it. The Russian Federation has made a responsible decision on the use of armed forces to defend the People of Syria from the sorrows caused by the arbitrariness of terrorists. Christians are suffering in the region with the kidnapping of clerics and the destruction of churches. Muslims are suffering no less.

This is not a pretext to justify intervention in Syria.

Oregon Shooting – When Tragedy Happens Let’s Focus On The Cause And Not The Tools Used

While the blood was still dripping from those martyrs who, in front of an evil man armed with a gun, asked them if they were Christians and those strong in the faith said they were. He shot them in the head. While those who were lost or weak said nothing he spared their lives and shot them in their legs.

Barrack Hussein Obama angrily ran to the cameras to use this opportunity to say that guns being in the hands of the law-abiding Americans is the problem, and we need to restrict the 2nd amendment to spare the lives of “we the people.”

This is nuts; guns do not kill people, people kill people! You can test this fact in your own home right now. (Do not worry no one will get hurt).

Gun Free Zones Are Killing Zones

How did you feel when you heard of the shootings in Oregon this week? Was the first thing that came to your mind the thought that if we only had stricter gun control legislation, this kind of tragedy could have been prevented?

If you listened to idiotic liberals, like President Barack “Insane” Obama, you might believe that. It is my contention that liberalism is a mental disorder based on the rejection of God and His principles, and extreme irresponsibility.

Where’s the Beef, in Republican candidates, in 2015?

What type of Republican Leader do you want in 2015?

As we look at elections coming up quickly in 2015, as well as the very important 2016 election cycle, what type of “Republican” leaders do you want to shape the future of your county and country?

Do you ever wonder why it is that the current crop of Republicans are not declaring, at every media interview, “These ills have been brought to you by the Democrat Party!” when speaking of Obamacare, the hordes of immigrants being allowed to destroy our country, the Iranian nuclear treaty, the “Black Lives Matter” racial division rhetoric, the attack on the defense of marriage, the 94 million Americans not currently in the work force,

Child protection services Sentences Baby To Death ON 9/11/2015

Child protection services should be self-explanatory based on the simplicity of its name. But they are doing exactly opposite of their name in many places. Wynne, Arkansas is one such place.

A baby has been sentenced to death and will be executed on Friday, September 11, 2015 and Arkansas Department of HUMAN SERVICES (DHS) – Division of Children and Family Services- Central Office will facilitate the delivery of the baby’s 10-year-old to the abortion clinic.
