So Much For The ‘Shoots Wolves From Helicopters’ Myth

Some left wing bloggers may be starting to realize that the Palin emails they fought relentlessly to have released are not the silver bullets they had hoped for to use to destroy the object of their hatred. Information contained in the documents, in fact, provides compelling contradictory evidence to many of the myths they have perpetuated about Sarah Palin. One of those myths is related to the practice of predator control. It’s a biological fact that wolves reproduce at a much faster rate than the herd animals they prey upon. In Alaska, that means caribou and moose, animals which typically have single births alth0ugh some calves are born in pairs. Wolves, on the other hand have litters of four to six pups. Without predator control as a key element of wildlife management policy, wolves would decimate the herds in short order. In remote areas of Alaska, the impact on native populations who have to  count on bountiful numbers of elk and caribou for subsistence, would be disastrous. There are no chain supermarkets or Wal-Mart superstores in the rural parts of the state, and even at the rare mom and pop general store, the price of beef “imported” from the lower 48 is more than most families can afford. More importantly, hunting is part of the culture and has been for countless generations.

One group of people who fail to understand these facts of life in the last American frontier is the animal rights activist community. One of the groups, Defender of Wildlife, has produced and aired television ads with a purely emotional appeal, portraying the wolves as cute, lovable furry little critters. Sarah Palin has long been their poster girl as the focus of evil to animal rights extremists simply because she has maintained the wildlife management policies which have been in place in Alaska before and after Palin was governor. Ashley Judd is their celebrity spokesperson, and her narration of these ads is mostly disingenuous attacks on Sarah Palin. The assault seems to be about more than just wolves however, and may have much to do with the larger leftist agenda.  Though she hasn’t been governor for nearly two years now, they are still attacking her as the evil witch of the north who slaughters poor, innocent wolves just for the thrill of it.

Judd and her comrades cannot be at all pleased about Fridays document dump of Palin’s emails., mainly because they shatter the mythological image of a bloodthirsty Sarah Palin, assault rifle in hand, maniacally pursing Alaskan wolves from the skid of a black helicopter, fiendishly laughing as she slaughters the poor creatures. Lefty bloggers have been pushing that one for years. But, according to the liberal Washington Post, the emails prove otherwise:

The governor told her fish and game commissioner in blunt terms that she opposed using state helicopters to hunt wolves and preferred paying private hunters.

“We have to act quickly on this as predators are acting quickly and rural families face ridiculous situation of being forced to import more beef instead of feeding their families our healthy staple of alaskan game. Nonsense. Unacceptable – and not on my watch,” she said.

Her source of information? “Todd interviewed buddies who live out there… Some confirmation that state intervention isn’t first choice w/the locals,” Palin said.”We need to incentivize here,” including providing money for trappers.

Governor Palin did indeed strongly support predator control, and she clearly favored paying hunters a bounty to keep the wolf population in check, but the image of her personally shooting the predators from aircraft has finally been shot down. The emails also show that her motivation for keeping the wolf population at manageable levels was her concern for the welfare of Alaska’s rural families who depend so heavily on caribou and moose, the wolves’ prey, for food and warm clothing.

Another email demonstrates Gov. Palin’s opposition to hunting bears in the McNeil River Bear Sanctuary:

“I am a hunter. I grew up hunting – some of my best memories growing up are of hunting with my dad to help feel (sic) our freezer. I want Alaskans to have access to wildlife…BUT – he’s asking if I support hunting the bears in the sanctuary? No, I don’t… I don’t know any Alaskans who do support hunting the McNeil bears that frequent the viewing area. Many Alaskan and Outside visitors view these animals on the McNeil river, within the sanctuary, and, as my parents have reported back after their viewing trip, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see such beauty on that river.”

Ashley Judd, please pick up the red phone. It’s Defenders of Wildlife on the line, and they’re in panic mode.

  • Excellent article. The release of her emails has only reinforced the fact that the “main stream media” has been attacking her without cause.

Russia Declares ‘Holy War’ On Islamic State

The Orthodox Christian Church, which is reclaiming its traditional role in post-Soviet Russia, has just described its government’s fight against the Islamic State and other jihadi groups in Syria as a “holy war.”

According to Vsevolod Chaplin, head of the Church’s Public Affairs Department,

The fight with terrorism is a holy battle and today our country is perhaps the most active force in the world fighting it. The Russian Federation has made a responsible decision on the use of armed forces to defend the People of Syria from the sorrows caused by the arbitrariness of terrorists. Christians are suffering in the region with the kidnapping of clerics and the destruction of churches. Muslims are suffering no less.

This is not a pretext to justify intervention in Syria.

Oregon Shooting – When Tragedy Happens Let’s Focus On The Cause And Not The Tools Used

While the blood was still dripping from those martyrs who, in front of an evil man armed with a gun, asked them if they were Christians and those strong in the faith said they were. He shot them in the head. While those who were lost or weak said nothing he spared their lives and shot them in their legs.

Barrack Hussein Obama angrily ran to the cameras to use this opportunity to say that guns being in the hands of the law-abiding Americans is the problem, and we need to restrict the 2nd amendment to spare the lives of “we the people.”

This is nuts; guns do not kill people, people kill people! You can test this fact in your own home right now. (Do not worry no one will get hurt).

Gun Free Zones Are Killing Zones

How did you feel when you heard of the shootings in Oregon this week? Was the first thing that came to your mind the thought that if we only had stricter gun control legislation, this kind of tragedy could have been prevented?

If you listened to idiotic liberals, like President Barack “Insane” Obama, you might believe that. It is my contention that liberalism is a mental disorder based on the rejection of God and His principles, and extreme irresponsibility.

What type of Republican Leader do you want in 2015?

As we look at elections coming up quickly in 2015, as well as the very important 2016 election cycle, what type of “Republican” leaders do you want to shape the future of your county and country?

Do you ever wonder why it is that the current crop of Republicans are not declaring, at every media interview, “These ills have been brought to you by the Democrat Party!” when speaking of Obamacare, the hordes of immigrants being allowed to destroy our country, the Iranian nuclear treaty, the “Black Lives Matter” racial division rhetoric, the attack on the defense of marriage, the 94 million Americans not currently in the work force,

Child protection services Sentences Baby To Death ON 9/11/2015

Child protection services should be self-explanatory based on the simplicity of its name. But they are doing exactly opposite of their name in many places. Wynne, Arkansas is one such place.

A baby has been sentenced to death and will be executed on Friday, September 11, 2015 and Arkansas Department of HUMAN SERVICES (DHS) – Division of Children and Family Services- Central Office will facilitate the delivery of the baby’s 10-year-old to the abortion clinic.
