As we sit here today and our leaders leaders on both sides of the isle twist and turn to find out how to save our nation from the economic catastrophe, it brings out an interesting point. Our nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles and beliefs and over our short history we have been blessed as one of the world’s leading economic power houses. We have also become the military leaders of the world, and as a people, we enjoy more freedom and liberty than any other nation in the world. Why do you suppose we have achieved this?
We achieved this because our founding fathers were men of faith and conviction and they had the wisdom to make those simple biblical values and principles the foundation of this nation. Over the last 50 years or so, many have fought to remove Christianity from the people and the government, and as a result we have fallen as a nation.
Today, even in the Republican Party, we have to fight and defend the belief that we should continue to stand for fiscal and social issues. Many within the Republican Party think that we should drop all social issues and just worry about fiscal policy. This is wrong, and if we do drop the social issues, we are finished. Can anyone name ONE race we have lost for being too conservative? Nope. It’s never happened.
I agree with the Tea Party movement, but many within the Tea Party are not interested in defending our social or moral issues - Only fiscal issues. Truth be told, our fiscal problems are not only a financial problem – they are also a moral problem. We are in this mess because we have strayed from those simple biblical and moral truths. In Romans 13:8 Paul says “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.” If our elected officials would stick to those simple biblical truths this nation was founded upon we would not be in this mess.
So to those who want to drop all biblical morality, I ask you to rethink your position.
