Call from Southwest Flight to Amarillo international airport said someone was trying to break into the cockpit. Iranian man Ali Reza Shahsavari was shouting on Southwest Airlines Flight 3683: “You are all going to die. You are all going to hell. AllahuAkbar.”
The flight with 136 passengers and five crew members on board wisely made an emergency landing. Ali Reza Shahsavari was arrested. TSA agents say they could not talk to him because of a “language barrier”. Other news reports say he was allegedly born in United States. I know a lot of Iranians, but do not know of any Iranians born in United States who cannot speak fluent English!
It is reported that someone identifying herself as his sister was flying with Ali and given charge of his luggage. He is in jail but from what the press is reporting, the Iranian man is expected to be released soon because the FBI agents are somehow assessing this was just a moment of temporary insanity. There are no reports of any psychological evaluation by a professional psychiatrist but with politically correct procedures, they might just send someone like Major Hasan to evaluate him.
Sad that profiling is not allowed to determine the extent of the danger Ali presents to us who want to fly safely from one city to another. In the days of political correctness and the made up fantasy of “islamophobia”, we can obviously sadly no longer trust our government to give us a truthful answer.
There are some accounts from those on the flight that he was actually in the back of the plane shouting his islamic AllahuAkbar cries and proclaiming that all the passengers are going to die and go to hell. But the phone call from the cockpit said he was trying to break into the cockpit.
Hope we have boots on the ground to find out the truth before it’s too late for another flight.
