The election results are in and America has decided the direction it will take for the next four years. Barack Obama won a re-election for a second term by capturing 303 electoral votes to Mitt Romney’s 206.
Our nation is at a tipping point. With a fiscal cliff looming in our near future – crushing debt piling up that will be passed on for generations, unemployment remaining at the highest levels since the Great Depression, and the largest tax increases the world has ever seen going into effect over the next couple of years, we have some of the most troubling times of our generation still ahead of us.
The American people had to choose a direction, and they chose the “status quo.” They chose to move forward with a leader who is running the country off a cliff by printing money, and operating without a budget. A leader that wants to redistribute the nations wealth from the produces and give it to the takers. A leader that feels that the answer to our nations problems is more government control and less individual liberties.
2013 will see tax rates rates increase and additional taxes from Obamacare go into effect – going completely opposite of the promises made during his first campaign stating that no one making under $250,000 per year would pay a single cent more in tax.
But the American voters have spoken, and we’ve now embraced the tax and spend temporary comforts of massive governments, and this will not change until it is too late.
Is this representative of what our country has become? Is this what our country is truly expecting from our President, or was our nation gullible enough to be sold on “Hope and Change” a second time? Let’s refocus our efforts on the 2014 mid-term elections and find out.
