Since 2008 I have volunteered numerous hours to the Republican Party and many candidates in an effort to help save the nation from the hands of the corrupt and evil people that we have elected to rule it. Between 2008 and 2010 the Republican Party had been revived and reenergized for the fight ahead. But after the massive victory in 2010 many Republicans got lazy and many of those who stayed energized and engaged did not share our conservative Republican values and principles.
There is a growing number of weak Republicans both locally and nationally who say we should drop the social values, platform and just stick with the fiscal issues. Christian Republicans should never accept this and need to wake up and join the fight to defeat this. If I was asked to make a decision to drop either the social values of our Party’s platform or the fiscal parts of our Party’s platform, then I would drop the fiscal parts of our Party’s platform.
I’m perfectly comfortable, when I die, to stand in judgment before God as a poor American who has died of starvation and a lack of good healthcare because the government took everything I had.
On the other hand if we were to drop the social issues and strictly deal with the fiscal issues do you think we could stand before God in judgment and tell Him we did not fight for the lives of the unborn, we did not fight for traditional marriage, we did not fight for His Biblical values within North American society, but we did fight for fiscally conservative government and great healthcare so that we could live a long healthy life with money to spare? Do you think God would say “Well done thy good and faithful servant? “NO I fear he would not!
It is often said in Christian conservative circles that the American people just need to vote their values. In the 2012 elections the American people did vote their values Believers (those who bothered to vote) and non-believers a-like joined arm in arm to vote for evil, ungodly people to be our elected representatives, either by explicitly voting for them, or not showing up to vote, effectively handing the country over to the forces of evil for another four year term. An estimated 20 million evangelicals didn’t bother to vote. I guess they are relying on God to be salt and light in our society? Exercising the right and obligation to vote, and becoming involved in the political process must be beneath them. Perhaps they are to Holy to get their hands involved in the political process?
Therefore if we are going to save our nation we must first change the values of the people within this nation. As it is right now believers and unbelievers alike do not hold within their hearts those basic Biblical values that made this nation great. And many of those believers that do believe in our Godly principles that made this nation great are unwilling to stand up and take a public stand for them.
It saddens me when I see Christians who are openly pro-abortion, pro-homosexual marriage, for legalization of illegal drugs, and all for dropping all government regulation of deviant behavior within American culture.
The Bible says in Matthew 7:6 “Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.”
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, as a believer am I not therefore holy? And if I am holy the work of my hands should also holy therefore when I volunteer to help someone gain political office and they are not willing to stand up and fight for Biblical principles am I not giving what is holy to those that are unholy?
Neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again to render you. How many people have I given myself to over and over again to have them turn, once my usefulness is done and trample me under their feet, ignore me, or not stand by me when I am attacked for standing up for our Godly Principles that made this nation so great?
Matthew 15:8 says “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.” In politics this verse often comes to mind.
I will still fight for Biblical principles from within the Republican Party but that alone will never save this nation or more importantly the people within this nation. But I will be more careful regarding who I will fight for in the future.
We must fight for the hearts and souls of the American people and help to change their values and that cannot be done within the Republican Party and is not being done by the church community at large but it needs to.
There is one segment of our population that very few people care about but they should. I will be dedicating a part of my life to help saving the lives of the unborn. But not just the 99% of the unborn that much of the pro-life community always fight for. I will be dedicating my time and what resources I have to that 1%. Juda Myers with Choices4Life is dedicated to helping those mothers that have been raped and brutalized and left pregnant and alone.
If we want to reach people we must show them that we care about them. This does not mean we go to a Republican club meeting once a month and talk about the things that we should be doing. This is going to places that you feel uncomfortable and doing things that you may feel uncomfortable doing.
Do you really want to do Christian Republican outreach? What better way to reach into somebody by helping them one of the most vulnerable and most alone in showing them that you care and not by words alone but by actions and your resources? Won’t you join me in taking the principles of conservatism and giving them hands and feet? May God grant repentance to this nation before it is totally destroyed.
