Commissioner “willing to go to jail” rather than stop praying “In Jesus’ Name”

A hero has defied a judge’s order by continuing to pray “in Jesus’ name” in public.

“Commissioner Robin Bartlett Frazier [from Carroll County Maryland] said she’d go to jail for the right to say Jesus during a meeting prayer — just two days after a judge, on the heels of an atheist group’s pressing, issued a preliminary injunction that barred any type of sectarian prayer during government gatherings,” The Blaze reported.

“Ms. Frazier didn’t care. She said, prior to opening with a prayer that invoked Jesus more than once, that: “I’m willing to go to jail for it. I believe this is a fundamental of America, and if we cease to believe that our rights come from God, we cease to be America. We’ve been told to be careful. But we’re going to be careful all the way to communism if we don’t start standing up and saying ‘no,’” reports The Washington Times.

Now anti-Christian “foes are up in arms about Ms. Frazier’s prayer.

“Commissioner Frazier spoke at length in brazen defiance of the federal judge’s order,” said Bruce Hake, an anti-Jesus complainer.

“Of course, it’s entirely possible that the commissioner wishes to become a public martyr of sorts for Christianity, a celebrity upon whom religious sympathizers can bestow admiration and encouragement,” Ms. Miller wrote, in a letter reported upon by The Blaze. “If that’s the case, and if she therefore ignores both the court and this warning, she will no doubt get her wish.”

[Dr. Chaps' comment:  Mrs. Frazier's courage reminds me of a Navy Chaplain I knew in 2006 (what was that guy's name again?) who defied Pentagon orders and prayed in Jesus' name in uniform outside the White House.  Poor guy was  punished and lost his career, but later vindicated by Congress who restored freedom of speech for military chaplains.]

Let’s petition Congress to protect military chaplains who pray in Jesus’ name:

Jesus wins?  Oral arguments at Supreme Court.  Chaps predicts 6-3 decision.

I am amazed and relieved.  I just read all of today’s oral arguments at the U.S. Supreme Court today in the case of Greece vs. Galloway.  I am almost giddy.  I think we’re about to make history in favor of the right to pray in Jesus’ name in government forums.

I hereby predict the court will rule 6-3 in favor of Jesus prayers, announcing next July.

By the tone and tenor of the questioning, it is quite clear that all five Republican-appointed Justices Roberts, Alito, Scalia, and Kennedy (with Thomas silent) did affirm and will rule in favor of the right to pray in Jesus’ name, even at city council meetings.

A sixth Democrat-appointed Justice Breyer asked questions implying he favors allowing Jesus prayers, applying the same standard for legislative prayers in all city councils and state legislatures that is currently used by the U.S. Congress, which allows diversity.

The court’s three female Democrat-appointed Justices Ginsburg, Sotomayor, and Kagan however, initially appear to oppose Jesus prayers in their questioning.

Here is a link to the full text of the oral arguments. Lawyers Hungar and Gershengorn argued in favor of allowing pastors to pray “in Jesus’ name” when giving the invocation before city council meetings.

The anti-Jesus lawyer Laylock argued against allowing Jesus prayers, and directly asked the government to censor the word Jesus Christ from prayers.  Read in particular pages 24-25, 40-41, and 51-52.  The Justices cracked jokes about allowing atheist prayers.

The bottom line was summarized by Justice Kagan, who may yet surprise me and make this a 7-2 decision.  Here’s her quote.

JUSTICE KAGAN:  All hypotheticals aside, isn’t the question mostly here in most communities whether the kind of language that I began with, which refers repeatedly to Jesus Christ, which is language that is accepted and admired and incredibly important to the majority members of a community, but is not accepted by a minority, whether that language will be allowed in a public town session like this one. That’s really the question, isn’t it?

MR. LAYCOCK: That’s the issue that actually arises in the case.

JUSTICE KAGAN: That’s the issue that actually arises. Here’s what — I don’t think that this is an easy question. I think it’s hard, because of this. I think it’s hard because the Court lays down these rules and everybody thinks that the Court is being hostile to religion and people get unhappy and angry and agitated in various kinds of ways.

JUSTICE KENNEDY: It just seems to me that enforcing that standard and the standard I suggested involves the State very heavily in the censorship and – and the approval or disapproval of prayers.

[Dr. Chaps' comment:  Bingo.  Kennedy nailed it.  The anti-Jesus complainers are demanding state censorship of citizens' speech and prayer content.  That violates the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.  Ballgame.  We will win, God willing.]

Now let’s demand Congress restore religious freedom for military chaplains and troops:

Historic:  Supreme Court hears “Jesus Prayers” Case.  Take action!

About six years ago, I sent a personal fax to the Supervisor of Greece, New York, John Auberger, who is a Christian man defending freedom of speech against atheist or anti-Jesus complainers with Americans United for Separation of Church and State, who had threatened to sue the Town of Greece.

In my fax, I recommended Auberger hire Christian lawyers from the Alliance Defending Freedom (then called Alliance Defense Fund), and adopt their policy allowing freedom by members of all diverse faiths to pray according to their own faith, even if they pray “in Jesus’ name.”

The anti-Jesus complainers sued, demanding government censorship or exclusion of “Jesus prayers” from town meetigs.  Auberger took my advice and hired ADF lawyers.

This week those Christian lawyers I recommended will argue before the United States Supreme Court, the MOST IMPORTANT RELIGIOUS FREE SPEECH CASE in our generation, a case called Greece vs. Galloway. The Washington Times summary is here.

Watch!  Dr. Chaps’ 7-minute TV commentary on the Supreme Court case Greece v. Galloway, here.

The court can rule one of two ways:

1)  Jesus prayers are to be banned as “illegal speech” or censored in some government settings.

2)  Jesus prayers cannot be banned as “illegal speech” because Congress cannot make a law forbidding freedom of speech.

Gee, I wonder which the court will rule?  It is entirely possible they will fail, but I suspect and I predict they will get this right, and side with Auberger and the Town of Greece.

Please pray with me, but also let’s petition Congress to defend the right to pray “in Jesus’ name” for military chaplains…

Please select here to sign urgent petition, and we will fax all 100 Senators (saving you time!) to PROTECT MILITARY CHAPLAINS RIGHT TO PRAY “IN JESUS’ NAME” or according to their conscience. Or sign free option here.

God Bless you, in Jesus’ name,

Russia Declares ‘Holy War’ On Islamic State

The Orthodox Christian Church, which is reclaiming its traditional role in post-Soviet Russia, has just described its government’s fight against the Islamic State and other jihadi groups in Syria as a “holy war.”

According to Vsevolod Chaplin, head of the Church’s Public Affairs Department,

The fight with terrorism is a holy battle and today our country is perhaps the most active force in the world fighting it. The Russian Federation has made a responsible decision on the use of armed forces to defend the People of Syria from the sorrows caused by the arbitrariness of terrorists. Christians are suffering in the region with the kidnapping of clerics and the destruction of churches. Muslims are suffering no less.

This is not a pretext to justify intervention in Syria.

Oregon Shooting – When Tragedy Happens Let’s Focus On The Cause And Not The Tools Used

While the blood was still dripping from those martyrs who, in front of an evil man armed with a gun, asked them if they were Christians and those strong in the faith said they were. He shot them in the head. While those who were lost or weak said nothing he spared their lives and shot them in their legs.

Barrack Hussein Obama angrily ran to the cameras to use this opportunity to say that guns being in the hands of the law-abiding Americans is the problem, and we need to restrict the 2nd amendment to spare the lives of “we the people.”

This is nuts; guns do not kill people, people kill people! You can test this fact in your own home right now. (Do not worry no one will get hurt).

Gun Free Zones Are Killing Zones

How did you feel when you heard of the shootings in Oregon this week? Was the first thing that came to your mind the thought that if we only had stricter gun control legislation, this kind of tragedy could have been prevented?

If you listened to idiotic liberals, like President Barack “Insane” Obama, you might believe that. It is my contention that liberalism is a mental disorder based on the rejection of God and His principles, and extreme irresponsibility.

What type of Republican Leader do you want in 2015?

Do you ever wonder why it is that the current crop of Republicans are not declaring, at every media interview, “These ills have been brought to you by the Democrat Party!” when speaking of Obamacare, the hordes of immigrants being allowed to destroy our country, the Iranian nuclear treaty, the “Black Lives Matter” racial division rhetoric, the attack on the defense of marriage, the 94 million Americans not currently in the work force,

Child protection services Sentences Baby To Death ON 9/11/2015

Child protection services should be self-explanatory based on the simplicity of its name. But they are doing exactly opposite of their name in many places. Wynne, Arkansas is one such place.

A baby has been sentenced to death and will be executed on Friday, September 11, 2015 and Arkansas Department of HUMAN SERVICES (DHS) – Division of Children and Family Services- Central Office will facilitate the delivery of the baby’s 10-year-old to the abortion clinic.
