Does God Love A Homosexual?

May 3, 2014 10:20 am 1 comment

As a Pastor and Professor of biblical studies, I reach out to the lost through various social media venues. Recently, I encountered a question that I feel led to share along with my response.

The question: “I have been living with a man for _ years and I am in love with him. Does Jesus love me even though I am a homosexual?”

My response:

God’s love is unconditional. Because Jesus is God, my answer is: yes. Jesus loves you unconditionally. In chapter 8 of the Gospel of John, Jesus is confronted by some of the Sanhedrin (Israel’s ruling body in the 1st century). They drag a woman caught in the very act of adultery before Jesus asking Him to judge her fate. The Jewish Law clearly stipulated that she and her counterpart must be stoned to death. Jesus expressed to those present, “let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” One by one, each of the men present departed beginning with the eldest down to the youngest. After they had gone, He and the woman remained alone. Jesus asked her, “woman, where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you? She replies, “no one my Lord.” So Jesus says to her (as I am now saying to you) “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”

You see __________. We need to distinguish God’s love from His forgiveness. While His love is unconditional, His forgiveness is conditioned on belief in Jesus. Over in 1 John (among other places) we read, “the one who loves God keeps His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” (which means it is doable).

Romans 3: 23 says “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6: 23 says, “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.”
John 3: 3 says “in order to see the Kingdom of God, you must be born again.”
Romans 10: 9-10 says, “that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Ephesians 2: 8 says, “for we are saved by grace through faith and that (grace through faith) not of ourselves. It is a gift from God and not by works so that no one should boast.”

John 3: 16 says that “whosoever believes (in Jesus) shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Do you believe that Jesus is God that He came to earth and became a man, He lived a perfect life, voluntarily shed His own blood for our sin, rose from the dead to prove who He is, and sits at the right hand of power (is God)? Do you believe that these actions of His are all that is necessary to save you? If so, you are a Christian and you are forgiven!!!

But this is not a license to sin!! 1 Cor. 10: 13 says “… God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able. But with the temptation, will provide the means of escape also, so that you may be able to endure it.” In other words, you can ALWAYS avoid sin.

Both 1 Cor. 6: 9 and 1 Tim. 1:10 include homosexuality among other sins. It cannot be separated from those other sins mentioned.

However, practicing homosexual behavior is not different than my practicing any sin or anyone else practicing theirs. I struggle with mine. But, I have been delivered from its bondage through the freedom in Christ Jesus. Thus, I do not practice sinful behavior anymore. It is not my lifestyle.

It is no accident that you sent this message to me. Does Jesus love you? YES!! Does he want you as His? YES! Can He free you from this lifestyle? YES!

I have friends who have been delivered from homosexuality and are married (to women) and have kids. They are very happy. But, they attribute this delivery from bondage to Jesus.

“With God, all things are possible.” I am praying for you. Please reply back and stay in touch.

As with anyone who is lost, it is incumbent upon each of us as believers to reach out to them with a message of hope and deliverance. As Jesus said, it is not the well who are in need of a physician, but the sick. How are we doing in reaching out to a lost and dying world? Are we reaching with the hands and feet of Jesus, or with a stick?

Yours and His,

  • Well said. In addition to the fact that “God so loved the world,” He called us to love (Matthew 5:44). While He knew that the world was a place of trouble (John 16: 33) and sin (Romans 5: 12), he still provided a way out for all of us (Romans 5:8). Nonetheless, our freedom from sin (Romans 6:22) should result in a change of behavior for all of us (1 Corinthians 6: 9) (Luke 9:23).

Russia Declares ‘Holy War’ On Islamic State

The Orthodox Christian Church, which is reclaiming its traditional role in post-Soviet Russia, has just described its government’s fight against the Islamic State and other jihadi groups in Syria as a “holy war.”

According to Vsevolod Chaplin, head of the Church’s Public Affairs Department,

The fight with terrorism is a holy battle and today our country is perhaps the most active force in the world fighting it. The Russian Federation has made a responsible decision on the use of armed forces to defend the People of Syria from the sorrows caused by the arbitrariness of terrorists. Christians are suffering in the region with the kidnapping of clerics and the destruction of churches. Muslims are suffering no less.

This is not a pretext to justify intervention in Syria.

Oregon Shooting – When Tragedy Happens Let’s Focus On The Cause And Not The Tools Used

While the blood was still dripping from those martyrs who, in front of an evil man armed with a gun, asked them if they were Christians and those strong in the faith said they were. He shot them in the head. While those who were lost or weak said nothing he spared their lives and shot them in their legs.

Barrack Hussein Obama angrily ran to the cameras to use this opportunity to say that guns being in the hands of the law-abiding Americans is the problem, and we need to restrict the 2nd amendment to spare the lives of “we the people.”

This is nuts; guns do not kill people, people kill people! You can test this fact in your own home right now. (Do not worry no one will get hurt).

Gun Free Zones Are Killing Zones

How did you feel when you heard of the shootings in Oregon this week? Was the first thing that came to your mind the thought that if we only had stricter gun control legislation, this kind of tragedy could have been prevented?

If you listened to idiotic liberals, like President Barack “Insane” Obama, you might believe that. It is my contention that liberalism is a mental disorder based on the rejection of God and His principles, and extreme irresponsibility.

What type of Republican Leader do you want in 2015?

As we look at elections coming up quickly in 2015, as well as the very important 2016 election cycle, what type of “Republican” leaders do you want to shape the future of your county and country?

Do you ever wonder why it is that the current crop of Republicans are not declaring, at every media interview, “These ills have been brought to you by the Democrat Party!” when speaking of Obamacare, the hordes of immigrants being allowed to destroy our country, the Iranian nuclear treaty, the “Black Lives Matter” racial division rhetoric, the attack on the defense of marriage, the 94 million Americans not currently in the work force,

Child protection services Sentences Baby To Death ON 9/11/2015

Child protection services should be self-explanatory based on the simplicity of its name. But they are doing exactly opposite of their name in many places. Wynne, Arkansas is one such place.

A baby has been sentenced to death and will be executed on Friday, September 11, 2015 and Arkansas Department of HUMAN SERVICES (DHS) – Division of Children and Family Services- Central Office will facilitate the delivery of the baby’s 10-year-old to the abortion clinic.
