Time Is Running Out To Assist These Young Girls; Do Texas State Representatives Support The Sex Slave Trade In Texas Sanctuary Cities?

Our State reps, for whom we campaigned so hard last fall, have decided they are tired of showing up to work, as reportedly one third of them didn’t show up last Friday, June 24, ensuring that they did not have a quorum to conduct Texas business.  They have thumbed their noses at “We the People”, and the speaker of the house, Joe Straus, has done nothing to get them to come back to address some of the outstanding issues that Governor Rick Perry has called them to address in this special session.

Word has it that as long as the Sanctuary City issue is still left to be addressed, these irresponsible State Representatives will not appear and there will very likely not be enough State Reps to have a quorum for the balance of the special session.

Please see more information detailing the AWOL status of our State Reps at Beaumont Enterprise.

So, as you and I are affected daily by the illegal immigration situation, as our police officers’ lives continue to be placed between us and the illegal activity conducted by illegal aliens safely residing in our sanctuary cities, our state reps have decided that they want our cities to be sanctuaries for this illegal activity, and they will not act responsibly to do the will of “we the people”, and once more have failed us miserably when we needed them most.

Recently our illustrious president, Barack Hussein Obama, came to Texas to declare that we don’t have an illegal immigration issue.  He quipped “Maybe the Republicans will want to build a moat, and maybe they’ll want sharks in the moat” in an irresponsible attempt to poke fun of those of us who are extremely concerned about the problem of illegal immigration and attempting to wake up the general populace and elected officials to take action.

You see, there is much great sounding rhetoric coming from every side of the illegal immigration issue.  Some claim:

  • That Republicans and those opposed to illegal immigration wish to alienate all Hispanics, they claim that it is a racial issue and that the only reason one opposes illegal immigration is because of racial hatred
  • That the “enlightened” and politically correct viewpoint to take is to do nothing;  leave those people who come here illegally in peace, give them amnesty and treat them like all those who came here in the past legally
  • That the construction, restaurant, landscape and agriculture businesses desperately need the “cheap” labor supplied by the illegal alien workforce.  “Americans won’t do these jobs” is their mantra, which today admittedly sounds pretty hollow, in the light of the high rates of  unemployment we are experiencing
  • To ignore them, and they will go away, seems to be the attitude by a great many, who have their heads merrily stuck in the proverbial sand

Wow, sounds like we don’t really have a problem, do we?  I mean, after all, aren’t these just “undocumented” workers?  So what if they are breaking federal and state laws, isn’t this just a matter of semantics?  After all aren’t we all citizens of a “global” community?   Isn’t this a  “victimless” crime?  I mean,, we need cheap labor, they aren’t worth much except for performing jobs that we Americans aren’t willing to do (according to those who believe so), isn’t this a “win-win” situation for all?

Why would we want to interfere and declare that no city in Texas should serve to protect those here illegally from prosecution?

For all of the ills associated with illegal immigration, those stories of people dying in the back of 18 wheel   trucks, those stories of the events surrounding the importation of illegal drugs, the law enforcement officers who have been killed in the process of attempting to thwart illegal activities, the lives that are destroyed by the illegal actions of illegal aliens, theft, murder, drug trafficking, bribery, extortion, kidnapping, ad infinitum, the plight of those young girls sold into the sex slave trade should touch the heart of the most hardened of us.

For our elected representatives who refuse to enact responsible legislation, refuse to protect  the rights and lives of “we the people”,  refuse to assist those Mexican nationals who wish to legally come to this country and partake of the “American dream”, who refuse to enact legislation that would streamline the process of immigration, for all of those that think the idea of enforcing a border is antiquated and racist, I hope the story mentioned below haunts you, lulls you out of your irresponsible slumber, and shames you into action.

Did Houston’s Illegal Alien Sanctuary Policy Enable a Previously Deported Illegal Alien Prostitute to Operate a Sex Trafficking Scheme Right under the Nose of the Houston PD?

Washington, DC — June 20, 2011

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today it has obtained documents from the Houston Police Department detailing a shocking sex trafficking operation run by illegal aliens, including a former prostitute, Maria Rojas, who had previously been deported. The documents indicate that police officers responded to service calls to the business co-owned by Ms. Rojas on 60 occasions, and were well aware of the criminal activity taking place at these establishments, but apparently did not check the immigration status of any of the arrestees or Ms. Rojas. Houston, Texas, has in place an illegal alien sanctuary policy, Houston PD General Order 500-5, which prohibits police officers from inquiring about the citizenship status of any person.

On February 17, 2011, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas announced the indictment of Maria Rojas and her brother, Jose Luis Rojas, on sex trafficking conspiracy charges. They and eight co-defendants were also charged with conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens. Maria Rojas, who was deported following a 1999 arrest for prostitution, was charged with illegally reentering the country after deportation.

The indictment alleges that Maria and Jose Luis Rojas ran a sex slave trafficking ring since at least August 1999. The scheme involved luring young women into the country illegally from Mexico with false promises of employment, then forcing them to work as prostitutes at La Costeñita Bar and El Club Restaurante in Houston. Maria Rojas and Javier Guevara Belmontes (a legal resident) co-owned the locations. The remaining defendants were illegal aliens who served as managers or employees of the businesses.

Judicial Watch filed an open records request with the Houston Police Department (HPD) on March 8, 2011, seeking documents related to police contacts with the individuals named in the indictment and police activity at the locations related to the conspiracy. Documents produced to Judicial Watch from the HPD show law enforcement officers responded to service calls at the businesses co-owned by Maria Rojas on average once a month over a five-year period and to a residence co-owned by Maria Rojas and Javier Belmontes on an additional eight occasions:

  • Police documented 48 calls for service to La Costeñita between 2006 and 2011. Nine of these events involved vice squad investigations and/or arrests for prostitution, and during this time frame 12 individuals were arrested for prostitution. There were 17 cases of assault (including three shootings and a stabbing). There was one cocaine possession arrest (in May 2008) and one armed robbery arrest (in December 2007).
  • There were 12 documented police calls for service to El Club Restaurante between 2006 and 2010. These included four burglaries, two assaults and a shooting.
  • Between May 2006 and November 2010, Houston police responded to the residence of Maria Rojas and Javier Belmontes eight times. On three occasions, police spoke with and documented a complaint by Jose Luis Rojas. On November 1, 2010, Jose Luis Rojas reported an armed robbery by six unknown assailants. Three weeks later, Jose Luis Rojas reported receiving a telephonic death threat.

According to the Houston Chronicle, police officers were well aware of the illegal activity taking place at the La Costeñita location:

So notorious is the bar that undercover Texas alcohol investigators long ago documented its seedy intricacies: an escape hatch, a hidden passageway leading to decrepit and gated houses of prostitution described as “horse stalls.” Federal, state and local agents learned by name and face many key characters who operated La Costenita and made repeated — but only partially successful efforts — to stop them.

Despite the repeated visits to these establishments, Maria and Jose Luis Rojas continued to operate their sex trafficking operation unfettered for approximately a decade. A simple check with ICE about Ms. Rojas, any of the arrestees or the young girls forced into prostitution, would have indicated their illegal status, and might have led to the earlier termination of the sex slave trafficking ring.

However, Houston is a de facto sanctuary city because of Houston PD General Order 500-5. The order, signed by former chief Sam Nuchia in January 1990, states in part that “officers shall not make inquiries as to the citizenship status of any person, nor will officers detain or arrest persons solely on the belief that they are in this country illegally. Officers will contact the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) regarding a person only if that person is arrested on a separate criminal charge (other than a class C misdemeanor) and the officer knows the prisoner is an illegal alien.”

“Sanctuary policies in Houston allowed young women to be victimized by illegal alien sex traffickers. Houston and other sanctuary cities undermine the rule of law and thwart control of our borders. And they lead to the brutal crimes associated with human trafficking. So while the Obama administration goes after Arizona for furthering our nation’s immigration laws, it ignores cities like Houston that think they don’t have to obey laws concerning illegal immigration,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

What can you do about this?  You can email your state rep, you can contact them on Facebook and twitter, and tomorrow morning, when their offices open up you can call their local and Austin offices and demand that they address this issue before they continue their vacations, holidays, or whatever other excuse they are giving for not being in Austin.

And you can remember this behavior come primary time next spring, when they will be asking for you to vote for them in any contested elections.  Is this behavior worthy of your vote?  If they continue to refuse to do the will of “We the People”  You have an obligation to let them know, in the form of communication they best hear, the vote at the ballot box!  We will not continue to support irresponsible representatives, no matter what letter they have following their name!

Well the session is over and we got nothing as far as immigration bills that will protect Texans – no e-verify and no ban on sanctuary cities. At the beginning of the session, one Republican said they didn’t need to Democrats to even show up, we could get any bill we wanted since we had a super majority. Well, now the truth comes out. Bob Perry (Perry Homes) and Charles Butt (HEB grocery) (being the powerful contributors that they are), along with Norman Adams (Adams Insurance), Bob Price (Adams’ puppet), Dr. Steve Hotze (Hotze Wellness Clinic) – conservative Republicans all – and a few others only needed to nudge the polticians a little to make sure the bills weren’t voted on. As Adams says “The Republicans in the House and the Senate listen to people who give them money. Bottom line. It’s always been that way. It always will.” So now we know who owns Austin. At least it’s the “conservative” villains that own it. From now on, every murder of a police officer or citizen, robbery, human trafficking, drug smuggling or idenity theft that is committed by illegal aliens can be laid directly at the feet of the above named villains and the spineless politicians in Austin who were bought off. And the reason? Cheap labor (and campaign contributions for the polliticians). Well, the blood of innocent victims of illegal alien crime is on their hands. 2012 is coming and we need to remind the incumbants that they traded the lives and safety of hispanic, anglo, black and asian Texans for campaign promises.
